Start: September 2025

Do you want to be a part of an exciting forward-looking school with a strong reputation catering for students from year 5 through to year 11?

Priory Academy is a good school with outstanding features (Ofsted April 2023) and is part of Scholars’ Education Trust. We strive for excellence by teaching and preparing our young people to have confidence, to accept and respond to challenges, to have an enduring passion for learning and to become independent thinkers with respect for themselves and others.

We offer:

  • A successful, oversubscribed school that is deeply valued by the local community
  • A committed and enthusiastic staff combined with an experienced and supportive governing board
  • A ‘values-based’ education philosophy, promoting and nurturing our children to have a sense of respect for self and others

The successful applicant will have a clear vision for the faculty and the strategic leadership skills to deliver improvements. You will be an outstanding practitioner who has the vision, energy and drive to further improve achievement and ensure teaching is of the highest standard across all key stages.

We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.

Scholars’ Education Trust is an equal opportunities employer. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Declaration of criminal offences

The trust is required to give you the opportunity to voluntarily declare convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings that are not ‘protected’ as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020). You will be provided with a criminal self-declaration form by the school if you are shortlisted for the post. All posts in schools are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you are appointed you will be required to have an up to date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate. The existence of a criminal background does not automatically mean that you cannot be appointed but it may do so.
